 Introduction about the Earthquake

An Earthquake is a suddden movement or trembling of the Earth's tectonic plates in the Earth crust,and quakes occur when the frictional stress of gliding plate boundries build and cause failure at a fault line.In an Earthquake,elastic energy is released seismic waves radiate cause shaking of the ground.

    Nepal Earthquake 2015 On the 2015 April 25,Nepal experienced a earthquake which was 7.9 magnitude also known as Gorkha earthquake.More than 900 people were killed,thousands of people were injured more than 6,00,000 structure in all over the Nepal were damage. 
    • The devastating Gorkha Earthquake measuring to 7.9 magnitude having ths epicenter occurred near Barpak village of Gorkha district which is 181 km northwest of kathmandu.
    • On may 2015,a 6.8 magnitude of strong aftershock caused further damage and sufferings and there are total of 384 aftershock

    •  The earthquake severly affected 14 district(Gorkha,Dhading,Rasuwa,Bhaktapur,Kathmandu,Lalitpur,Sindhupalchowk,Kavrepalanchok,Dolakha,Sindhuli,Makawanpur,Ramechhap and Okhaldhunga) and another 31 district affected to varying extents in this way.
    • Scientific thoughts about Gorkha Earthquake are the earthquake occurred on a convergent collision plate boundary between the Indian and Eurasian plates.The focus was only 8 kilometers depth and the epicentre was about 182 kilometers north-west from the capital of kathmandu.
    • Israel provided a large team of people to the relief effort in Nepal and country like India,Finland,China,Portugal,USA helped Nepal.A total of $3 billon was pledged by donors to help rebuild Nepal.
